# Overview

#### About Loam

**Loam** is the on-chain treasury and settlement layer built by **Agridex** for global trade.

Agridex operates live infrastructure that enables exporters, importers, and trade-focused funds to move money across borders, manage stablecoin balances, and access working capital using regulated digital dollars and verified trade data.

Loam extends this infrastructure on-chain, providing programmable treasury controls, transparent settlement, and disciplined capital deployment for trade-linked stablecoin balances.

Loam Treasury is designed for real trade workflows, not speculative financial activity.

#### What is Loam Treasury

Loam Treasury is on-chain treasury optimisation tool associated with global trade and payments.

It provides a programmable framework for:

* Holding stablecoin and other balances
* Enforcing treasury controls and approvals
* Settling payments directly on-chain
* Deploying idle capital into short-duration, trade-linked receivables

The system is designed to reflect how institutional treasuries actually operate, with explicit rules around liquidity, risk, and governance.

#### Why Loam Exists

Global trade continues to rely on slow, fragmented financial infrastructure.

Settlement delays, correspondent banking friction, and uneven access to working capital create inefficiencies that leave capital idle and increase operational risk.

At the same time, large pools of stablecoin liquidity exist on-chain, but are poorly connected to real economic activity.

Loam exists to connect these two worlds.

By combining trade data, regulated digital dollars, and on-chain settlement rails, Loam enables stablecoin capital to be deployed into real trade activity in a controlled and transparent way.

#### Why This Matters

For trade businesses and platforms:

* Capital is often trapped during settlement and payment cycles
* Treasury visibility and control are limited
* Access to short-duration working capital is inconsistent

For stablecoin holders and funds:

* Yield opportunities are often opaque or speculative
* Real-world exposure is difficult to access and underwrite
* Capital is disconnected from productive economic use

Loam aligns trade activity with stablecoin capital, allowing each to function more efficiently.

Yield is a consequence of facilitating trade, not the objective.

#### The Trade Float Vault

The Trade Float Vault is the first product built on Loam Treasury.

It enables approved users to deploy stablecoin and other balances that arise from trade and settlement workflows into short-duration trade finance activity.

Capital deployed through the vault supports:

* Trade receivables
* Pre-financing of verified trade flows
* Inventory-linked financing
* Settlement and payments float

The vault is designed to convert DeFi stablecoin liquidity into real trade finance, while keeping underwriting, risk, and liquidity discipline under Loam’s control.

#### How It Works (High Level)

At a high level:

1. Approved users deposit stablecoins into the vault
2. Receipt tokens are issued representing a proportional claim on vault assets
3. Capital is deployed into eligible, short-duration trade exposures
4. Cashflows from trade activity accrue back to the vault
5. Vault value increases over time
6. Users redeem subject to defined liquidity terms
